CAMERON PARK — A volunteer with the Props, Cops & Rodders community event presented a donation check Feb. 12 to El Dorado County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, recognizing the team’s on-site medical support during the most recent show day, organizers confirmed this week.

George, a volunteer representing the Props, Cops & Rodders Show & Shine Fly-In, delivered the check in appreciation for the group’s staffing of two First Aid booths during the event. Search and Rescue members provided standby medical and emergency response coverage for attendees, exhibitors and flight participants.

“Search and Rescue volunteers are there when people need them most — in the backcountry and at community events,” an event coordinator said in a statement. “Providing two First Aid stations helped keep the show safe and running smoothly. We’re grateful for their professionalism and service.”

The annual show, held at Cameron Park Airpark, brings together classic cars, aircraft, law enforcement and fire agencies for a public safety–focused family event. Displays typically include fly-in aircraft, vintage and specialty vehicles, and demonstrations from regional first responders.

Search and Rescue operates as a volunteer unit within the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, covering roughly 1,700 square miles from the Sacramento County line to the Nevada state line. Teams conduct more than 100 missions annually involving lost, injured or stranded individuals across wilderness, water and technical terrain.

Specialized capabilities include rope rescue, swift water response, K9 search, mounted units and unmanned aircraft systems. The unit also supports major regional events and endurance races, providing medical and field response resources alongside deputies and fire personnel.

Proceeds from the Props, Cops & Rodders event traditionally benefit the Placerville Community Fund, which distributes grants to meet local charitable needs across western El Dorado County.

Organizers said community partnerships with public safety volunteers remain central to the event’s mission.

“It’s neighbors helping neighbors,” “That’s what this show is built on.”
