SHINGLE SPRINGS, Calif. — Longtime Lotus resident and technology entrepreneur Robert Deitz will officially launch his campaign for El Dorado County Supervisor during a public kickoff and fundraising reception on Wednesday, March 25.

The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Elks Lodge located at 3821 Quest Court, just off Durock Road in Shingle Springs. Supporters and community members are invited to attend and learn more about Deitz’s priorities and vision for the county.

Deitz, who has lived in Lotus for more than three decades, has built a reputation in both community service and national cybersecurity leadership. His campaign is expected to emphasize maintaining quality of life in El Dorado County while drawing on his experience in technology, government advisory roles and local volunteer work.

“Robert has been deeply involved in the community for decades,”

organizers said in an invitation announcing the event.

“He represents a quality-of-life choice for El Dorado County Supervisor.”

Throughout his years in the region, Deitz has been active in youth and outdoor programs. He has served as a Cub Scout Pack Master, Boy Scout troop leader and assistant scoutmaster, while also coaching the Ponderosa High School mountain bike team, the El Dorado Youth Trap Team and several local Little League teams.

His volunteer work extends to recreation and community projects, including trail-building efforts on the Rubicon Trail with the Rough & Ready Jeep Club and charitable work through Light of the Hills Lutheran Church.

Professionally, Deitz is recognized as an early pioneer in cybersecurity. He founded Government Tech Solutions in El Dorado County and has advised several federal agencies, including the Pentagon, the National Security Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. State Department.

Deitz also developed the California Multiple Award Schedules (CMAS), a procurement program designed to modernize purchasing and reduce paperwork for state government agencies. The program continues to serve as a key contract vehicle used by the State of California for acquiring technology and services.

In addition, he has contributed to Signal, the trade journal published by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, writing about emerging technology and cybersecurity issues.

Organizers say the March 25 reception will provide residents an opportunity to meet Deitz in person and discuss the future of El Dorado County. Attendees will also have the chance to learn about the campaign and ways to become involved.

Deitz said he welcomes conversations with voters and can be reached directly at (530) 391-0497.

The campaign kickoff event is open to the public.
