CAMERON PARK, Calif. — California Highway Patrol cadets volunteered their time at the 11th annual Cops, Props & Rodders event at Cameron Park Airpark, helping local law enforcement welcome families to a gathering that combined classic vehicles, aviation displays and community fundraising.
Cadets from training classes CTC I-26 and II-26 assisted CHP Placerville personnel and other local law enforcement officers during the event. Their duties included helping guide attendees and connecting with families who came to see the displays and activities.
The event featured specialty airplanes, helicopters, classic hot rods and police vehicles, bringing together aviation enthusiasts, car lovers, families and public safety personnel at the Cameron Park airpark.
Event Combines Cars, Aircraft and Community Service
Cops, Props & Rodders is an annual community event held at Cameron Park Airpark. The Cameron Park Airport District identifies the event as a partnership involving Friends of Cameron Park Airport and the California Highway Patrol, with proceeds supporting local charitable organizations.
The airport district describes the event as part of the community activities organized around the airport, which serves Cameron Park and the surrounding foothill region. The combination of aircraft and classic vehicles offers residents an opportunity to experience local aviation and meet law enforcement personnel outside routine enforcement settings.
Official event information is available through the Cameron Park Airport District. The California Highway Patrol’s Placerville Area office provides information about the agency serving the area.
Cadets Help Strengthen Public Connections
The CHP thanked the cadets for volunteering and recognized their assistance to CHP Placerville and other local law enforcement agencies.
“Events like these are what community is all about,” the agency’s event acknowledgment stated.
The cadets’ participation gave families an opportunity to interact with public safety personnel in a community setting while helping event organizers manage the gathering.
For residents of El Dorado County, events such as Cops, Props & Rodders also provide a chance to learn more about local emergency services, aviation and the people who serve their communities.
The event’s charitable purpose adds another dimension to the gathering, connecting a public attraction with support for local organizations.
A Community Effort in El Dorado County
Cameron Park Airpark is managed by the Cameron Park Airport District, a special district overseen by an elected five-member board. The district supports airport operations and works with community organizations on events and other activities.
The cadets’ volunteer service reflects the collaboration among law enforcement, aviation groups, event organizers and residents that helps make community gatherings possible.
For CHP Placerville and the cadets preparing for careers in law enforcement, participating in local events offers an opportunity to engage with residents beyond the roadside and reinforce the importance of public service.
