SHINGLE SPRINGS, CA, June 29, 2024 – In a transformative step forward for the Shingle Springs Rancheria, the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, in collaboration with Cal.net, Inc., proudly announced the completion of a pioneering fiber-to-the-home project. This achievement, made possible through the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program (TBCP) grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), represents a significant advancement in broadband infrastructure for the Tribal community.

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, a sovereign nation in rural El Dorado County, operates its own government, services, and businesses. The installation of this state-of-the-art broadband technology promises to revolutionize educational opportunities, emergency response services, healthcare delivery, digital learning, and economic development for Tribal Members.
