PLACERVILLE, Calif. — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Sierra (BBBSNS) drew a strong show of support on Friday, Sept. 12, as community members, sponsors, and volunteers gathered for the annual BIG Autumn Auction. The evening fundraiser raised essential funds to expand mentoring programs that serve youth in El Dorado, Nevada, and eastern Placer counties.
“This year’s BIG Autumn Auction was truly impressive,” said Florence Parks, CEO of BBBSNS. “To witness our community step up in such a big way was a reminder of what’s possible when we come together. These funds will directly support the programs that empower our youth to thrive, building stronger futures for them and for our community.”
The event featured spirited bidding led by a professional auctioneer, a festive atmosphere, and service support from Hands 4 Hope student volunteers. Organizers credited the success to the dedication of board members, staff, and local supporters who helped shape the evening into a smooth and memorable experience.
Sponsors played a key role in fueling the fundraiser’s impact. Platinum-level sponsors ($5,000) included Toogood Estate Winery, Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, and El Dorado Disposal. Gold sponsors ($2,500) were Windfall Magazine and Alta Sierra Tree. Silver sponsors ($1,500) included Don and Katy Peek, Gold Country Media, Mountain Democrat, and El Dorado Savings Bank. Bronze sponsors ($1,000) included Atwood Insurance, Wofford Acres Vineyard, and Corvus Communications.
