🎄 Community Christmas: “Toys from the Bearcat” Event to Brighten Holidays in El Dorado County

CAMERON PARK, Calif. — Here’s a holiday invitation to the heart of El Dorado County: On Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Food Bank of El Dorado County (4550 Business Drive, Cameron Park) will host the annual Toys from the Bearcat Community Christmas Event. The gathering — in partnership with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and the Shingle Springs/Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce — welcomes all residents to join in a festive evening of food, drinks, photos with Santa, dancing, raffle prizes, and more.

🎁 What the Event Looks Like

Attendees are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys — which will benefit families in need across El Dorado County — as part of the Toys from the Bearcat program.

For those unable to attend the evening celebration, a drive-thru drop-off for toys and frozen turkeys will be available on Dec. 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the same Food Bank location. The turkey donations will support the Food Bank’s holiday outreach program.

As organizers note:

“Join us Monday, December 1st … for the Toys from the Bearcat kickoff event!”

🤝 Who’s Behind the Event

The initiative is a collaboration between:

  • The Food Bank of El Dorado County — a nonprofit serving the region for over 25 years, operating emergency food and supply distribution networks across rural and remote communities.

  • The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office — leading the Toys from the Bearcat program to collect holiday gifts for children and families.

  • The Shingle Springs/Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce — adding community support and outreach.

Together, they aim to create a “family-friendly holiday celebration open to all,” according to event announcements.

🎯

With economic strains affecting many households, holiday outreach and community support can offer critical relief and hope. By combining toy donations and food assistance, the event strengthens ties across neighborhoods — an opportunity for neighbors to help neighbors. It’s also a moment for families and community members to come together, celebrate, and share in the spirit of giving.
