Placerville Area
The overnight shift in Placerville started early and ended the same way — with flashing lights and a trip to the county jail. Just after midnight, deputies stopped Danielle Renee Eaton on Forni Road and discovered a driver under DUI restrictions allegedly operating without the required ignition interlock device. Eaton was also booked for driving on a license suspended for DUI. A short time later, the California Highway Patrol picked up Shelby Nicole Eberle along State Route 49 near Throwita Way on suspicion of driving under the influence. By 2:45 a.m., CHP had another DUI case on the books after stopping Logan Phillip Doyle in the Braemer area. Later in the afternoon, deputies returned to Forni Road and arrested Jennifer Nicole Shields on suspicion of transporting a controlled substance, a felony carrying a $10,000 bail. The same day in nearby Shingle Springs, Chad James Romine was booked on two counts of trespassing after deputies responded to a call near Sunset Lane. The day closed with another arrest in the Green Valley area, where Harald Peter Schmidt was booked on suspicion of contempt of court and disorderly conduct tied to alcohol. Seven arrests in all — a routine day’s tally in a county where the badge never sleeps.
South Lake Tahoe Area
Across the county line in South Lake Tahoe, police booked Emily Lian Schwenk late Saturday morning following an incident on Emerald Bay Road. Authorities say the arrest involved alleged injury to an elder or dependent adult, a misdemeanor offense under state law. Bail was set at $1,500. The case now moves through the court system as investigators sort out what happened inside the residence.
