WEST SLOPE: PLACERVILLE • DIAMOND SPRINGS • RESCUE • CAMERON PARK
Deputies on the west slope kept busy Saturday chasing trespassers, sorting out domestic fights, and answering a steady stream of nuisance calls. Identity theft reports rolled in from Skyline Drive in Placerville and Toronto Road in Cameron Park as victims sought help from deputies. Missouri Flat Road saw loitering complaints around Walmart and nearby intersections as patrol units moved through the shopping district. A battery complaint on Coloma Street in Placerville ended with an arrest after deputies stepped in. Later that night, deputies made another arrest after a domestic violence report on Rebel Ridge Lane in Placerville. Rescue logged suspicious activity and a late-night noise complaint on Malachite Way. Cameron Park deputies answered back-to-back verbal disturbance calls along Coach Lane near the sheriff’s substation and a nearby gas station. By midnight the radio traffic told the usual weekend story — family disputes, theft reports, and deputies chasing down trouble across the valley floor.

At the Milestone Restaurant on Town Center Boulevard, a verbal dispute drew deputies but the involved parties were gone before officers arrived. Another suspicious circumstances report surfaced on Avanti Drive, but deputies cleared the scene after checking the area. A trespass complaint at a Town Center Boulevard business was canceled before deputies made contact. Nightfall brought a party disturbance on Montrose Way as residents called about the noise. Patrol units checked the area and moved the crowd along.

A county ordinance complaint surfaced near Forebay Road and Sherman Way later in the afternoon. Tow operators were called to El Dorado Grocery on Pleasant Valley Road after a private property tow dispute. At Sierra-at-Tahoe, deputies handled an identity theft report tied to activity on Sierra-at-Tahoe Road. RIVER CANYON & RECREATION CORRIDOR
The recreation corridor along Highway 49 logged lighter traffic but still drew a few calls. Deputies assisted a citizen reporting lost property at Cronan Ranch along the American River. The call came in during the early evening as weekend visitors wrapped up a day outdoors. Patrol units searched the area and documented the report. The quiet canyon often hides small incidents like these among the crowds of hikers and rafters. While no arrests were reported from the area Saturday, deputies remained on patrol along the river corridor. The region continues to draw steady weekend traffic. Deputies say lost property reports are common in recreation areas. By dusk, the canyon patrol closed out the day without major incident.
