New Poker Room Opened at Red Hawk Resort + Casino in El Dorado County
The Red Hawk Resort + Casino officially opened its all-new poker room Tuesday, March 24, marking a significant step in the property’s ongoing expansion and modernization efforts.
The 1,550-square-foot gaming space features seven professional-grade tables with seating for up to 63 players, offering a mix of casual and competitive play designed to appeal to both seasoned poker enthusiasts and newcomers. The room opens daily at 8 a.m., providing consistent access for early and late players alike.
“This new poker room reflects our commitment to elevating the guest experience while expanding our gaming offerings,” CEO Bryan deLugo said in a statement. “We’ve designed a space that combines comfort, technology and high-quality service.”
Modern Amenities and Player Experience
The poker room introduces several upgraded features uncommon in traditional card rooms, including curated tableside dining that allows players to order meals directly from the resort’s restaurants without leaving their seats. The non-smoking environment, contemporary design and ergonomic seating aim to provide a more comfortable and health-conscious setting.
Each table is equipped with individual USB charging ports, while auto shufflers are used to increase game speed and efficiency. Players can also take advantage of a phone-in list system to reserve seats in advance, along with Wi-Fi access, self-serve drink stations and cocktail service. Multiple televisions throughout the room offer live sports viewing.
Tournaments and Gameplay Options
The new poker room offers a structured schedule of daily cash games and tournaments centered around Texas Hold ’em formats. Weekday tournaments run Monday through Thursday at 10 a.m. with a $50 buy-in, while higher-stakes games are scheduled for Fridays and Sundays at the same time with $100 buy-ins. Saturday tournaments feature a $125 bounty format, adding competitive variety.
Players can also earn comps and participate in ongoing promotions, including weekend “Pot Builder Power Hours,” aimed at increasing prize pools and player engagement.
Part of Broader Expansion Strategy
The poker room opening is part of a larger 2026 capital improvement plan led by Red Hawk leadership to modernize its gaming floor and attract increased visitation from across El Dorado County and the Sacramento region.
Located just outside Placerville, the resort continues to position itself as a regional entertainment destination, blending gaming, dining and hospitality under one roof.
