El Dorado County (May 12, 2024) – The 14th Annual Hands4Hope – Youth Making A Difference Toiletries Drive was a tremendous success, bringing together schools, businesses, and community members to support those in need, especially those affected by the Caldor Fire. Over 7,300 items were collected, demonstrating the generosity and commitment of the community.
The engagement of the Hands4Hope – Youth Making A Difference Community Engagement Youth Ambassadors, along with the collaboration with elementary schools, businesses, and community members, played a crucial role in the success of the drive. Through effective communication and organization, they were able to collect a variety of toiletry items essential for those facing hardships.
The distribution of the donated items to various agencies in the community, such as Upper Room Dining Hall, Green Valley Community Church, and others, ensures that they reach those who need them the most. Additionally, stocking the Hands4Hope Placerville Youth Center’s Emergency Food Pantry ensures ongoing support throughout the year.
Recognition through the Toiletries Drive Traveling Trophy adds a sense of accomplishment and motivation for participating schools, encouraging continued involvement and support for future initiatives.
Hands4Hope – Youth Making A Difference continues to fulfill its mission of inspiring and empowering youth in leadership and service, providing valuable opportunities for education and community engagement. Their recognition as the “2023 Nonprofit of the Year” for California Senate District 4 further highlights their impactful work in the community.
