In November 2024, Dollar Tree submitted a building permit application to El Dorado County to renovate the space. The company also applied for a permit last month to install new signage at the location.

While Dollar Tree Inc. has not officially announced the new store, job postings on the company’s website indicate they are hiring for positions at this address.

Dollar Tree operates over 16,500 stores across North America, including more than two dozen in the greater Sacramento area. The chain offers a variety of products, such as party supplies, household items, cleaning products, home decor, and seasonal merchandise.

In 2024, Dollar Tree expanded its presence in the Sacramento region by opening stores in former Walgreens locations and other retail spaces.

The opening date for the new Placerville store has not been announced.
