EL DORADO HILLS, CA — Ian Book, a native of El Dorado Hills and alumnus of Oak Ridge High School, has achieved the pinnacle of professional football by securing a Super Bowl championship as a backup quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles triumphed over the Kansas City Chiefs with a decisive 40-22 victory in Super Bowl LIX, held at the Caesars Superdome on February 9, 2025.

Book’s journey from local high school standout to NFL champion is a testament to his dedication and talent. After a record-setting collegiate career at Notre Dame, where he became the winningest quarterback in the school’s history, Book entered the NFL and eventually found his place with the Eagles.

Rob Martin, a family friend and owner of the El Dorado Saloon and Bar, has been a longtime supporter of Book. Reflecting on Book’s achievement, Martin stated, “He is very deserving of this opportunity, and I hope he’s having fun. I know he is. It’s different when there’s a lot of pressure to be absolutely on the field, but he is contributing in any way that he can, and we are proud of him for that.”

Throughout the season, Book provided valuable support to the Eagles’ quarterback unit, contributing to the team’s overall success. His experience and insights were instrumental in preparing the team for their championship run.

Following the victory, Book shared his excitement on social media, posting a celebratory photo with the caption, “It is what it is #Champs.”

The El Dorado County community has expressed immense pride in Book’s accomplishments. His journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes in the region, demonstrating that dedication and perseverance can lead to the highest levels of success.

As Book basks in the glory of a Super Bowl championship, his story continues to inspire, reminding us all of the power of hard work and determination.
