l Dorado County, Calif. – The El Dorado Community Foundation has announced the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors: Lynnee Boyes, Gordon Helm, and Catherine Dickson Schwarzbach. They join existing board members Allan Priest, Paul Zappettini, Pam Maxwell, Margie Kovarik-Maxhimer, Katy Peek, Shelbi Bennett, Jana Ellerman, and Brian Veerkamp, completing the 2025 roster.​

New Board Members

Lynnee Boyes: A resident of El Dorado County for 35 years, Boyes has an extensive history of involvement with local nonprofits. She previously served as the Program Officer for the El Dorado Community Foundation.​

Gordon Helm: An El Dorado County native, Helm founded Helm Technical Services, recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as one of the area’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies. Catherine Dickson Schwarzbach: Residing in El Dorado County since 1979, Schwarzbach has a background in education, having taught in the local school system before co-directing a school improvement program within the Governor’s Office. She has significant grant writing experience and is a founding member of the Women’s Fund El Dorado, where she chaired the Education and Multi-Year Grants Committee.​

Departing Board Members

The Foundation extends its gratitude to outgoing board members Wendy David, Ed Manansala, and Dan Staszak, who concluded their terms at the end of 2024. Their dedication and service have been invaluable to the community.​

Foundation’s Mission and Impact

The El Dorado Community Foundation is committed to strengthening the community for current and future generations. In 2024, the Foundation’s funds granted $3.1 million to support various needs within the community. Over 95% of this funding was made possible by donors and fund holders, underscoring their pivotal role in driving impactful grant-making throughout El Dorado County.​
