PLACERVILLE, Calif. — A 57-year-old Placerville man was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with a shooting that left another man injured, authorities said.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded around 2:20 p.m. to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 5600 block of Rocky Ridge Road. Deputies arrived to find a 56-year-old male victim who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect, identified as Sven Gosta Metour, was located in his vehicle and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the El Dorado County Jail on charges of assault with a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Metour’s bail was set at $210,000.
Metour has a prior criminal record. According to official arrest records, he was arrested on April 28, 2010, for multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, revocation of probation, and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. Additionally, he faced a charge under Penal Code 13700 for intentional abuse causing or attempting to cause bodily injury.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
