“I am honored to recognize Siri Nelson as my El Dorado County Woman of the Year. With nearly three decades of experience in rural healthcare, Siri’s commitment to ensuring residents have quality healthcare is commendable. Under her leadership, we have seen expanded innovative healthcare services in our community, in addition to numerous new career opportunities for residents. Thank you, Siri, for your many incredible contributions to AD 5!” Marshall

Since joining Marshall Medical Center in July 2019, Nelson has led initiatives that have positioned the hospital as a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services in El Dorado County. Her leadership was particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which Marshall was designated as a regional surge facility by the state. Additionally, Nelson has overseen the expansion of services into El Dorado Hills, addressing critical healthcare needs in the community.

Nelson expressed her gratitude for the honor:

“I am humbled and touched by this honor. To be recognized for doing the work that I am passionate about, for believing that regardless of our size and location we can be an example of how to deliver excellent care with quality and compassion, and for working day in and day out with extraordinary colleagues and community members … there is no greater honor.” Marshall

Beyond her role at Marshall, Nelson serves as the Board Chair of the California Hospital Association, representing over 400 hospitals statewide. She was also recently named one of the Sacramento Business Journal’s “Power 100,” recognizing her as a key influencer in the region’s healthcare sector.

Nelson’s commitment extends to various organizations, including the Greater Sacramento Economic Council and the Women’s Fund of El Dorado County. Her leadership continues to shape the future of healthcare both locally and across California.
