PLACERVILLE, Calif. — The annual Gold Country Kids fundraising dinner, held on March 1 at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, successfully rallied community support for youth shooting sports programs across El Dorado and Amador counties. The evening featured a dinner, auctions, and raffles, drawing attendees from various parts of the region. Proceeds from the event are directed toward programs such as the Amador County 4-H Shooting Sports, which offers training in disciplines including .22 rifle, air rifle, archery, and shotgun. These programs emphasize safety, discipline, and responsibility, providing youth with structured environments to develop their skills.

Community leaders highlighted the significance of such events in fostering youth development. “Supporting these programs ensures that our young people have access to safe and educational opportunities in shooting sports,” said a representative from Gun Owners of California. “It’s about building character and teaching responsibility.”

The success of the Gold Country Kids event underscores the community’s commitment to youth engagement and the preservation of shooting sports traditions. Organizers expressed gratitude for the widespread support and look forward to future events that continue to benefit local youth programs.
