FOLSOM, Calif. (Aug. 8, 2025) — Shawn O’Donnell, a Cameron Park resident and head custodian at Natoma Station Elementary School in Folsom, was arrested on Tuesday, August 5, on felony charges that include oral copulation with a minor, sending explicit material to a minor, contacting a minor for sex, pandering, and human trafficking, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said.

Timeline & Investigation
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit, following an extensive probe, gathered evidence indicating O’Donnell had been sending explicit content and arranging meetings for sexual encounters with juveniles.He was taken into custody at the beginning of the school year—just days before classes resumed.

Response and Context
The Folsom-Cordova Unified School District confirmed awareness of the arrest on Tuesday, August 5, and affirmed that O’Donnell no longer has access to any school campus.

“These allegations are disturbing and upsetting. We are told there is no evidence or indication of involvement with FCUSD students,”

the district said in a statement.

“The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority.”

The Sheriff’s Office has not ruled out additional victims and urges anyone with relevant information to contact Detective Gurrola.
