PLACERVILLE, Calif. — Businesses across El Dorado County are increasingly adopting environmentally sustainable practices, contributing to both ecological preservation and economic resilience. From wineries to transportation services, these initiatives reflect a county-wide commitment to sustainability.

  • Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Grant: Provides up to $5,000 per charger for businesses installing EV charging stations.

The project, supported by a $2.625 million federal request, will provide renewable energy, educational opportunities, and forest management services .

Bioenergy Plant Proposed in Camino

El Dorado County is evaluating the feasibility of a 5-megawatt bioenergy facility at the former Sierra Pacific Industries sawmill in Camino. The plant would convert forest biomass into energy, supporting local energy needs and forest management efforts .
