CAMERON PARK, Calif. — The Habit Burger Grill, a Southern California-based fast-casual restaurant known for its chargrilled burgers and fresh ingredients, is set to open its first location in Cameron Park later this month, according to company officials. The new restaurant will be located at Cameron Park Plaza, near the intersection of Cameron Park Drive and Green Valley Road, occupying the former KFC location at 3959 Cameron Park Drive, Cameron Park, CA 95682.

Construction crews began interior renovations in early May, and signage was installed last week. A company spokesperson confirmed the grand opening is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2025, pending final health inspections and local permit clearance.

“We’re excited to bring The Habit to Cameron Park and serve the community with quality food and fast service,”

said Tara Hill, Northern California Regional Marketing Manager for The Habit Burger Grill.

“This is a growing area, and we’re proud to be part of the neighborhood.”

Founded in Santa Barbara in 1969, The Habit has grown to over 350 locations nationwide, offering burgers, sandwiches, salads, and their popular tempura green beans. The new location will feature indoor dining, mobile ordering, and patio seating, and is expected to create 25–35 local jobs, including cooks, cashiers, and shift leaders.

El Dorado County residents have long awaited more casual dining options beyond fast food.

“This is a welcome change,”

said longtime resident Debbie Contreras, who lives just a few blocks from the new location.

“We’ve been driving to Folsom when we want something quick but better than a drive-thru.”

The project is being overseen by The Habit’s in-house development team in coordination with local contractors and the El Dorado County Planning and Building Department, which approved the remodeling permit in April. Final health and safety inspections are scheduled for mid-July, and the restaurant plans to hold a preview event and free meal day for first responders and educators on Monday, July 22.

About the Company
The Habit Burger Grill was acquired by Yum! Brands in 2020 and continues to expand its footprint in suburban communities across the U.S. It was ranked one of the “Best Tasting Burger Chains in America” by Consumer Reports.

More information on the grand opening will be shared on the official Habit Burger website and the local Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce.
