PLACERVILLE, CA – March 10, 2024 – In a strategic move aimed at spotlighting its unwavering dedication to community-based healthcare, Marshall Medical, the foremost healthcare provider in El Dorado County, has officially launched an extensive rebranding campaign. The upcoming rollout, set to unfold over the next few months, seeks to underscore Marshall’s exceptional services and showcase its roster of top-tier healthcare providers.

Siri Nelson, Marshall’s President and CEO, emphasizes the institution’s commitment to providing an unparalleled standard of care, asserting that Marshall’s services are on par with or surpass those found in major urban centers. The distinctive aspect, Nelson points out, lies in Marshall’s roots firmly embedded in the local community.

“For too long, Marshall has been a quiet gem tucked away in the hills, but that ends now,” declares Nelson. “Our rebranding isn’t just a new logo on a building. It represents a promise to an elevated experience and to exceptional care delivered here, in the heart of our community.”

Marshall’s rebranding initiative not only pays homage to its fiercely independent identity but also heralds its future as a regional healthcare leader. Established 65 years ago through a community-driven campaign, Marshall mirrors the caliber of care found in major cities, offering pioneering clinical trials and compassionate healthcare. The institution’s Cancer Center, affiliated with UC Davis, brings world-class cancer care to the region, melding academic health system strengths with community-based hospital services.

The accolades bestowed upon Marshall include recognition for stroke care by U.S. News & World Report, commendations for overall patient and clinical outcomes from the Lown Institute, and a coveted spot among the top 148 hospitals nationwide by Money and The Leapfrog Group. Regardless of the entry point—emergency room, birth center, surgical services, or family medicine clinics—patients encounter highly trained professionals who have opted to practice at Marshall due to its outstanding reputation.

As the healthcare landscape in the region becomes increasingly competitive, George Nielsen, the board Chair, emphasizes Marshall’s unique strengths.

“Marshall’s strength is our independence and our ability to be nimble enough to adjust to the needs of our area’s residents quickly and strategically in a way that larger organizations cannot. That is why we are best positioned to care for this community now and into the future.”

A notable change accompanying the rebranding effort is the removal of the words “medical center” from Marshall’s name. This alteration reflects the evolving nature of healthcare, acknowledging that quality care extends beyond the confines of a traditional hospital. To cater to the burgeoning needs of El Dorado County, Marshall has expanded its presence with offices and clinics in Placerville, Georgetown, Cameron Park, and El Dorado Hills. A forthcoming two-story, 49,000 square-foot facility in El Dorado Hills, set to open this winter, will further address the growing demand for family medicine, orthopedics and sports medicine, physical therapy, and laboratory services in the area.

The comprehensive rebranding campaign will be unveiled through various channels, including online platforms, billboards, advertisements, and other forums, showcasing Marshall’s commitment to quality care across all corners of the county.

About Marshall: Marshall stands as an independent, nonprofit community healthcare provider nestled in the heart of the Sierra Foothills. Comprising Marshall Hospital, a fully accredited acute care facility with 111 beds in Placerville, along with multiple outpatient facilities and community health and education programs, Marshall boasts over 220 licensed practitioners and more than 1,400 employees. Their mission is to provide quality healthcare services to over 180,000 residents of El Dorado County.
