Sheriff’s Blotter — Sept. 20, 2025
The clock struck midnight with a trespasser reported on Pleasant Valley Road. Deputies rolled, but the suspect had vanished into the dark. By 12:18, tempers flared outside the Bank of America in El Dorado Hills, a verbal scrap broken up with calm words. A suspicious vehicle loitered near Safeway off Bass Lake Road minutes later, checked and cleared.
The small hours weren’t quiet—by 1:51, odd circumstances on Gold Ridge Trail in Pollock Pines evaporated before patrol arrived. Dawn brought a stream of calls: a shady car near Church Mine Road, a suspicious drifter at Quick Quack Carwash, more reports up Forebay Road and Cedar Oak Road. By 10:19, a dust-up at Big Apple Bagels in El Dorado Hills earned deputy intervention.
After lunch, trouble simmered. At 2:07 p.m., a scuffle at the jail itself led to an arrest. Cameron Park saw court-order complaints on Coach Lane, while Placerville handled noise and Walmart loiterers.
Evening darkened into worse. At 5:27, Red Hawk Casino reported domestic violence—turned over to another agency. A half-hour later, tragedy struck on Highway 49 near Rattlesnake Bar Road: deputies took a dead-on-arrival report. More calls stacked—grand theft on Pony Tail Lane, batteries, disturbances, vandalism in Georgetown, and too many noise complaints to count.
By 11:39 p.m., rescuers were on Highway 50 near Kyburz for a search-and-rescue call, closing the day’s books.
