Carson City, NV (Feb 2, 2025) – Travis Bomar, 29, of Stagecoach, Nevada, was arrested recently by Carson City deputies for failing to register as a Tier 1 sex offender, a felony offense. This arrest follows a series of legal issues spanning multiple states.

According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Bomar was previously detained for driving under the influence (DUI), driving with a revoked license, probation violation, and a felony parole and probation hold. Subsequent investigations revealed that Bomar had not updated his sex offender registration as mandated. As a Tier 1 sex offender, he is required to register annually and must notify authorities within three business days of any change in name, residence, employment, or student status.

Records indicate that Bomar’s criminal history includes multiple arrests across Nevada, California, and Colorado, with several DUI charges in 2024 alone. In 2015, he was apprehended in Cañon City, Colorado, on a warrant from South Lake Tahoe, California, for charges including lewd acts on a child and rape involving drugs. This arrest occurred after Bomar contacted police during an altercation in Colorado.

Following his 2015 arrest, Bomar was convicted in El Dorado County, California, for unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under 18, necessitating his annual registration as a sex offender. Despite registering in August 2024, authorities discovered that after his release from Pershing County Jail on December 2, 2024, Bomar had moved to Stagecoach but failed to update his registration, leading to a “failing” status in the annual verification.

Upon his recent arrest, Bomar declined to speak with deputies regarding the registration lapse. He has been charged with felony failure to register as a sex offender, with bail set at $5,000.

This case underscores the critical importance of compliance with sex offender registration laws to ensure community safety. Authorities continue to monitor and enforce these regulations diligently.
