POLLOCK PINES, Calif. (Jan. 31, 2026) — The Solano County Superior Court has again postponed the trial setting for a Pollock Pines resident charged in the 2024 death of his mother, officials confirmed this week.
Jeffrey Clyde Aidnik, 59, is accused of felony murder in the death of his 78-year-old mother, Aileen Marie Aidnik, whose body was discovered in her Rio Vista home in May 2024. Prosecutors allege Aidnik killed his mother at her residence between May 10 and May 13, 2024, before officers found her body during a welfare check at a Trilogy neighborhood home. Aidnik was found at the scene and taken into custody the following day after a brief struggle with police.

On Friday in Department 15, Judge Bryan J. Kim ordered Aidnik to return for a trial setting on March 17, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in Solano County Superior Court, delaying earlier dates. The scheduling hearing will determine deadlines for motions and readiness for trial.
Aidnik has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including felony murder and a misdemeanor resisting arrest charge stemming from his May 13, 2024, arrest in the 500 block of Birch Ridge Drive in Rio Vista. Prosecutors also allege sentencing enhancements because of Aidnik’s status as a previously convicted felon.
He remains held without bail at a Solano County facility as the case proceeds. During a September 2025 court appearance, Aidnik entered the courtroom in a wheelchair, according to court observers, though details on his condition have not been disclosed by authorities.
Aidnik’s defense is led by Deputy Public Defender Mardin Malik, while the prosecution is handled by Deputy District Attorney Kirsten L. Sansoe. In a brief comment on the pending proceedings, Malik said, “We look forward to presenting a comprehensive defense that ensures Mr. Aidnik’s rights are fully upheld throughout this process.” (Statement provided to local press.)
