The 76th Annual Highway 50 Wagon Train is set to arrive in Placerville, California, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, culminating a week-long journey that began on May 31 in Round Hill, Nevada. This historic reenactment traces the path of 19th-century pioneers along the Sierra Nevada, offering a living tribute to the spirit of the American West.

The Wagon Train is scheduled to make its ceremonial entrance into downtown Placerville at 3:00 p.m., converging at the historic Bell Tower on Main Street. This event is part of the city’s Golden History Days, a celebration running from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., featuring live music, historical displays, and family-friendly activities.

Organized by the Highway 50 Association, the Wagon Train is the last full-length, historically accurate wagon train reenactment in the United States. Participants, donned in period attire, travel at an average pace of three miles per hour, camping at designated stops along the route. The journey includes roles such as wagon masters, scouts, outriders, and cooks, all contributing to an immersive historical experience.
