Scheduled to take place at the Red Hawk Resort + Casino in Placerville, CA, this Saturday, May 11, from 1:30 to 3:30pm PDT, the event promises a dynamic exchange of ideas and strategies.

The agenda unfolds in two pivotal segments. The first, a public community forum, boasts an array of distinguished speakers ready to impart knowledge, insight, and guidance on combating hate within our communities. Commencing at 1:30pm, this forum aims to equip attendees with actionable tools for reducing and responding to instances of hate.

Following the forum, at approximately 3:30pm, the California Truth & Healing Council steps into the spotlight. This segment provides a platform for the Council to elucidate its mission and offers attendees the opportunity to submit testimony for the record, fostering a vital dialogue on truth and reconciliation.

Among the notable speakers slated to grace the event are Assemblymember James Ramos, who will lead a discussion via Zoom on the sensitive issue of place name changes. Morning Star Gall, Executive Director of Indigenous Justice, will deliver a special presentation shedding light on the crisis of Murdered and Missing Indigenous People.

Representing the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom, Christina Snider-Ashtari, Tribal Affairs Secretary, and Loretta Miranda, Deputy Tribal Affairs Secretary & Special Counsel, will engage in a discussion concerning the California Truth & Healing Council, underscoring the government’s commitment to this imperative cause.

Following the Community Forum, from 3:30 to 5:30pm, the California Truth & Healing Council extends an invitation to delve deeper into their work and welcomes testimony submissions, ensuring that voices are heard and stories are acknowledged.

For those unable to attend in person, virtual participation is facilitated via livestream and phone access. The Zoom meeting link is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87834772162, with the option to join by phone using the number 1-669-444-9171 and meeting ID 878 3477 2162.
