EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. — May 19, 2025

More than 140 golfers and dozens of volunteers turned out for the 13th Annual Golf for Kids’ Sake Tournament at Serrano Country Club on Monday, making it the most successful iteration of the event to date for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Sierra (BBBSNS).

Held under clear skies and the spirit of generosity, the sold-out fundraiser united business leaders, service organizations, and community members to support one-on-one youth mentoring in El Dorado, Nevada, and East Placer Counties. From the opening Bloody Mary bar to the closing auction, every part of the event buzzed with purpose.

“This tournament is about more than a great day of golf—it’s about investing in the lives of young people across our region,”

said BBBSNS CEO Brenda Frachiseur.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors, volunteers, and players for showing up with generosity and heart.”

Highlights from the day included a card dart challenge, a marshmallow drive, a tequila party hole, and a spirited dinner reception. Many local businesses also participated in theme-based tee sponsorships that brought added color and fun to the 18-hole course.

Notable sponsors included the Sam & Sharon Smith Foundation as the $15,000 Ace Sponsor, Bob and Becky Sippel as Double Eagle Sponsors, and Eagle-level contributors such as Nationwide Insurance, Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, and El Dorado Disposal.

Other strong supporters included Wells Fargo Advisors, Pabco Gypsum, CA State Association of Counties, and Roebbelen Contracting. Local favorites such as Gularte’s Deli, The Windfall Magazine, and Spot-On Signs offered in-kind donations, helping stretch every dollar raised.

Volunteers were also instrumental. Organizations like the U.S. Marine Corps Recruiter of Placerville, In-N-Out Burger, and RE:visions Home Decor & Gifts sent teams to assist with set-up, hospitality, and game stations throughout the day.

The proceeds from the tournament will directly support BBBSNS’s mission to build and sustain mentorships between adult volunteers and local youth—partnerships that have been shown to increase self-confidence, academic performance, and long-term stability in children.

“This support makes it possible for us to create and sustain the mentorships that help kids thrive,” Frachiseur added. “That’s a gift that lasts a lifetime.”
