(INEDC) — Young outdoor enthusiasts have a unique opportunity to showcase their fishing and marksmanship skills in the upcoming Youth Outdoor Contest, a free event hosted by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office’s S.C.H.I.E.L.D. Youth Program and the California Deer Association’s El Dorado County Chapter.
The contest, open to elementary, middle, and high school students, runs from April 10 to May 10. Participants will compete in two main events: a fishing competition and an air rifle marksmanship challenge.
Fishing Competition
From April 10 to May 10, young anglers are encouraged to catch and release black bass. To enter, participants must submit a photo of their catch alongside a ruler or tape measure for length verification. All fishing must comply with California Department of Fish and Wildlife regulations, and contestants are required to catch their own fish.
