PLACERVILLE, Calif. (March 20, 2025) — Following a weather-induced postponement, Placerville Speedway is set to launch its 60th anniversary season with the 22nd annual “Tribute to Al Hinds” this Saturday, March 22.
The event will feature multiple racing divisions, including the Thompson’s Family of Dealerships Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Red Hawk Resort + Casino Pure Stocks, Mountain Democrat Mini Trucks, and the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Tour.
Gates will open at 4 p.m., an hour later than in previous years, with live music and a Coors Light/Coors Banquet Happy Hour from 4 to 6 p.m.
The “Tribute to Al Hinds” began in 2004 to honor the former track promoter and Placerville resident who played a pivotal role in the speedway’s history. Hinds, who took over operations in 1968, was known for his dedication to the racing community.
Tickets are available at the gate or online, with adult admission priced at $20. Seniors (62+), military personnel, and juniors (12-17) can attend for $18, while children aged 6-11 are $8, and those under five enter free.
For fans unable to attend in person, live coverage will be provided by CaliDirt.TV.
Placerville Speedway is located at 100 Placerville Dr., Placerville, CA 95667, on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds.
