Chief Lilienthal brings over 28 years of experience in the fire service to his new role. His extensive background includes leadership positions in various fire departments across California, where he has been instrumental in implementing advanced training programs and enhancing community safety initiatives.

“I am honored to lead the dedicated men and women of the El Dorado Hills Fire Department,” said Chief Lilienthal. “Together, we will continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our community through excellence in service and innovation.”

Chief Lilienthal’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the department, which recently celebrated the opening of a state-of-the-art fire training center. The $12.5 million facility, located near El Dorado Hills Fire Station 87, features realistic training environments designed to prepare firefighters for a wide range of emergency scenarios. The center has already hosted intensive training sessions involving multiple agencies, underscoring the department’s commitment to regional collaboration and preparedness.

Former Chief Maurice Johnson, who led the department since 2019, expressed confidence in his successor. “Chief Lilienthal’s leadership and experience make him an excellent choice to guide the department into the future,” said Johnson. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together and look forward to seeing the department continue to thrive under his direction.

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department serves a diverse community, providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials mitigation, and public education across nearly 112 square miles. With Chief Lilienthal at the helm, the department is poised to build upon its strong foundation and continue delivering exceptional service to the residents of El Dorado Hills.
