Cold Springs, Calif. — Reports are circulating of a serious motorcycle crash occurring around 11 a.m. today on Cold Springs Road  in El Dorado County. According to comments posted on a local community Facebook page, the rider — seen on a blue Yamaha motorcycle — was found with two broken legs and what appeared to be a collapsed left lung. One commenter wrote,

“I heard from a girl that was first on scene… he had a pulse and shallow breathing but alive.”

However, no official press release has yet been issued by the California Highway Patrol or the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office confirming the time, location, rider’s identity or condition of the crash. Authorities did respond to previous motorcycle incidents on the same roadway earlier this year — a 42-year-old man died in a solo crash in April. The sheriff’s department is urging anyone with information about today’s crash to contact dispatch.

Community members are asked to avoid speculating about the rider’s condition until law-enforcement or the hospital publicly confirms details, and anyone with photos, dash-cam video or witness statements is asked to get in touch with investigators.
