Placerville, CA – January 30, 2025 — On the morning of January 28, 2025, a routine traffic stop along Highway 50 in Placerville resulted in the arrest of Ruifeng Lin for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers discovered over four pounds of suspected methamphetamine and ketamine in Lin’s possession.
The incident began when a CHP officer approached a stalled vehicle on Highway 50. Upon contacting the driver, later identified as Lin, the officer observed signs of impairment. A subsequent search revealed the substantial quantity of drugs.
“These dangerous drugs are highly destructive to individuals and our communities,” said a CHP spokesperson. “What started as a simple roadside check turned into a large-scale drug seizure—helping to keep California and El Dorado County safer.”
