El Dorado County (Sept 25, 2024) – At approximately 10:53 AM on Tuesday morning, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to a crash at Silva Valley Elementary School in El Dorado Hills. A 2004 Toyota 4Runner, driven by a 16-year-old resident, overturned into the rear of the school grounds. Fortunately, no children were in the vicinity at the time of the incident. The young driver sustained only minor injuries and was the sole occupant of the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, with authorities looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
This incident serves as a reminder that school is in session, and drivers must adhere to the posted speed limits in school zones, which are 25 mph or lower. These limits are strictly enforced to protect students, pedestrians, and drivers.
