Anjali Ranadive, the founder of Women for Wolves, initiated the organization to unite women passionate about conservation. After rescuing a wolf-dog from a local shelter, she recognized the urgent need to protect these animals and established the sanctuary. Ranadive leverages her background as an environmentalist, artist, and sports professional to advance the organization’s mission.

The decision to move to El Dorado County aligns with the sanctuary’s goals of expanding its rescue operations and educational programs. The county’s diverse landscapes and supportive community offer an ideal environment for the sanctuary’s inhabitants and initiatives.

Residents interested in supporting Women for Wolves can participate in various programs, including private tours and educational events. All proceeds from these activities contribute directly to the care and maintenance of the rescued wolf-dogs.
