Pollock Pines (Nov 4, 2024) – June Lois Apland DeVille, a beloved figure in the Green Valley community, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Green Valley, Arizona, on October 16, 2024. She was born on June 10, 1937, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the youngest of four daughters of Vendella Widing Apland and Jacob James Apland.

June’s early years in Minneapolis were filled with familial warmth and musical gatherings. Her mother often played the piano, bringing family and friends together for sing-alongs. An avid learner, June graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and spent her early career working while honing her sewing skills and sense of fashion.

In 1971, June relocated to Tiburon, California, where she worked as an administrative assistant at Bechtel Engineering and Construction. There, she met her husband, Tom DeVille, on the Tiburon Ferry. Their shared love for life and adventure grew as they built a home filled with love, laughter, and numerous pets, including their cherished shelties.

After moving to Pollock Pines in retirement, June became involved in the Dogwood Garden Club, where she shared her passion for gardening and made many friendships. She was known for her generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand or offer a listening ear. June’s adventurous nature took her on travels to England and numerous camping trips with Tom, where they explored the beauty of nature together.

In her later years, June faced health challenges, including a battle with breast cancer. However, she maintained a positive outlook and continued to enjoy her life, traveling to the Oregon coast and spending cherished moments with family and friends.

June will be laid to rest at Fernwood Cemetery in Mill Valley, California, on November 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to the Animal League of Green Valley or the Salvation Army, both of which held special places in her heart.

June DeVille’s legacy of kindness, love, and adventure will live on in the memories of her husband, sisters, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and many friends
