Narcotics cases stacked up through the afternoon, including a controlled substance arrest at Smith Flat and a felony possession case tied to multiple prior offenses out of Department 2 Court. CHP worked the highway beats with alcohol-related DUI arrests on Bear Creek and Sly Park Road, while South Lake Tahoe Police added another late-night drunk-driving bust on Lake Tahoe Boulevard. A suspected drug-impaired driver was stopped on Broadway in Placerville and booked on DUI-drug and addict-driver charges. Near Red Hawk Parkway, Placerville Police closed the night with a felony identity theft arrest involving alleged use of another person’s credit or ATM information. By midnight, the blotter read like an old courthouse staircase — booze, warrants, narcotics and repeat offenders cycling through the steel doors again.
