Suspect Identified and Arrested

Authorities identified the suspect as Bryce Richard Stevens, 35, of Georgetown. He was taken into custody shortly after the incident and booked into the El Dorado County Jail in Placerville.

According to jail records, Stevens is being held on $370,000 bail and faces multiple felony charges, including:

  • Two counts of attempted murder
  • Kidnapping and false imprisonment
  • Burglary and grand theft auto
  • Possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person

Booking records show Stevens was arrested at approximately 2:33 p.m. near the scene on South Street.

Criminal History and Ongoing Investigation

Investigators confirmed Stevens has a prior felony conviction for burglary in El Dorado County, which legally prohibited him from possessing firearms or ammunition.

The sequence of events leading up to the shooting, including the alleged kidnapping and burglary components, has not yet been fully disclosed. Detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victims, pending further investigation.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
