Organizers are introducing several new competitions and attractions to enhance the fair experience. While specific details are forthcoming, the fair’s official website encourages participants to review the 2025 Competition Guide for updates on entry categories and schedules.

Health and Safety Protocols

In response to the ongoing concerns about Avian Influenza, the fair has announced the suspension of Dairy Cattle, Poultry, and Egg entries for the 2025 event. This precaution aligns with guidelines from the California Department of Food and Agriculture to ensure the safety of both animals and attendees.

Additionally, the fair will implement enhanced security measures. All patrons may undergo security screening upon entry. Prohibited items include gang attire, weapons of any kind (even with a CCW permit), and outside food or beverages, except for unopened sealed plastic water bottles. Empty refillable bottles are permitted and can be filled at water stations inside the fairgrounds.

Community Engagement and Expectations

The El Dorado County Fair has long been a cornerstone event, fostering community spirit and showcasing local talent. Organizers anticipate strong participation in various competitions, ranging from arts and crafts to homebrewing. Prospective exhibitors are encouraged to consult the fair’s official website for detailed entry guidelines and deadlines.

Ticketing and Admission

Tickets for the fair will be available for purchase starting April 1, 2025. Attendees can buy tickets online or at the fair office. To expedite entry, the fair offers an express line for guests with clear bags that meet specified dimensions. It’s important to note that pets are not allowed on the fairgrounds, with the exception of service animals.

As the fair dates approach, residents and visitors are encouraged to stay informed about event details and any potential updates by visiting the official El Dorado County Fair website or following their social media channels.
