The new overcrossing, located near Diamond Springs, provides a safe, grade-separated crossing over Missouri Flat Road, connecting existing segments of the El Dorado Trail. This infrastructure aims to enhance safety for cyclists and pedestrians by eliminating the need to cross the busy roadway at street level.

“This project represents a significant step forward in promoting active transportation and ensuring the safety of our trail users,”

said Dustin Harrington, Project Manager for El Dorado County.

The overcrossing is part of the county’s broader efforts to improve and expand the El Dorado Trail, a multi-use path that supports biking, walking, and equestrian activities. The trail serves as a vital corridor for recreation and alternative transportation, linking communities across the region.

Attendees are encouraged to participate in the bike ride and join the festivities at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event is open to the public, and all ages are welcome. For more information, visit the El Dorado Trail’s official Facebook page.
