PLACERVILLE, Calif. —

Community members across El Dorado County are being encouraged to mark their calendars for Thursday, April 2, when Women’s Fund El Dorado hosts its annual Ballot Showcase, a key event that helps determine how local philanthropic dollars are distributed.

The 2026 Ballot Showcase will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Marshall Building, located at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. The event will feature 17 nonprofit organizations from across the county, each presenting its mission, impact, and funding goals to attendees.

The showcase serves as a cornerstone of the Women’s Fund’s grantmaking process. Members of the organization will receive ballots and vote on which nonprofits will receive funding, with eight grants slated to be awarded in 2026.

“This is more than just an event—it’s an opportunity for the community to directly participate in meaningful change,” organizers said in a statement. “By hearing from these nonprofits firsthand, attendees gain a deeper understanding of the needs and solutions shaping El Dorado County.”

The evening is designed to foster connection and civic engagement, offering attendees the chance to speak directly with nonprofit representatives, learn about local challenges, and evaluate proposals before casting their votes. Light appetizers will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to wear dressy casual attire.

Thanks to support from a private benefactor, admission to the Ballot Showcase is free. However, pre-registration is required to attend, and space may be limited.

The participating nonprofits represent a broad spectrum of community services, including health and human services, education, youth development, and support for vulnerable populations. Organizers say the event underscores the importance of collective giving and informed philanthropy.

Founded to empower women as community investors, Women’s Fund El Dorado has become a significant force in local philanthropy, pooling member contributions to fund programs that address critical needs throughout the county.

Residents interested in attending are encouraged to reserve their spot in advance through the organization’s official registration channels.
