County election officials say all active registered voters in California will automatically receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the primary election. The election includes statewide offices, judicial contests, county races, supervisor seats, and local measures.

According to the California Secretary of State and the El Dorado County Elections Department, the final day to register to vote online or by mail for the June 2 election is May 18. Voters who miss that deadline may still “Conditionally” register and cast a provisional ballot at a vote center through Election Day.

El Dorado County Elections officials announced ballots will be mailed to active registered voters beginning May 4, the same day county ballot drop boxes officially open.

Early in-person voting also begins later in the month. Eleven-day vote centers are scheduled to open May 23, while additional four-day vote centers open May 30. All vote centers countywide will operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, June 2.
