EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. — Three people were injured Saturday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision on Green Valley Road near Brown’s Ravine in El Dorado Hills, forcing authorities to temporarily close the roadway as emergency crews responded to the scene.
The collision occurred along one of El Dorado County’s busiest east-west corridors leading to the Brown’s Ravine recreation area at Folsom Lake, a route that experiences heavy weekend traffic from boaters, cyclists and visitors traveling between El Dorado Hills and surrounding communities.
Emergency personnel from the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, assisted by law enforcement and ambulance crews, responded to the crash and began treating multiple victims. Three individuals sustained injuries in the collision and were evaluated before being transported for additional medical care. Officials have not publicly identified those injured or released information regarding the severity of their injuries.
As emergency operations continued, Green Valley Road was fully closed near Brown’s Ravine, creating traffic delays and requiring motorists to seek alternate routes. The closure remained in place while first responders treated victims, removed damaged vehicles and investigators documented the crash scene.
In an update from the scene, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department advised residents and motorists:
“Green Valley Road is closed in both directions near Brown’s Ravine due to a traffic collision. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews work safely.”
The cause of the collision has not yet been determined. Investigators are expected to examine vehicle positions, roadway conditions and witness statements as part of the ongoing investigation.
