El Dorado County, CA (Feb 23, 2025) – Hands4Hope – Youth Making A Difference is set to host the 25th annual Empty Bowls Dinner on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Forni Building, El Dorado County Fairgrounds. This milestone event aims to unite the community in the fight against hunger both locally and internationally.

Attendees will enjoy a selection of soups and fresh bread, served in handcrafted ceramic bowls donated by regional artists and schools. These keepsake bowls serve as a lasting reminder of the ongoing struggle against food insecurity. The evening will feature live Americana Celtic folk music by the Coloma Celtic band, along with vendor booths offering educational materials on hunger and a variety of handmade and curated items for purchase. Wine, beer, and desserts will also be available.

The event is organized by Hands4Hope’s after-school Empty Bowls Committee, comprising 16 middle and high school students—seven of whom are in leadership roles—and supported by 12 adult mentors.

Tickets are priced at $25 for adults at the door, with a $5 discount for advance online purchases, $15 for youth, and free admission for children aged 4 and under. Sponsorships begin at $150 and include event tickets. For tickets, sponsorships, and more information, please visit hands4hopeyouth.org/emptybowls.

In 2023, it was named “Nonprofit of the Year” for California Senate District 4.

“This event not only raises essential funds to combat hunger but also empowers our youth to take active leadership roles in addressing critical community issues,” said a representative from Hands4Hope.

The Empty Bowls Dinner continues its legacy as a nationwide grassroots effort to fight hunger, with the local event evolving under the leadership of dedicated youth committed to making a difference.
