STATELINE, Nev. —

A bomb threat phoned in to Harrah’s Lake Tahoe late Monday night triggered a law enforcement response and led to the arrest of a suspect now being held as a fugitive from justice, authorities said.

According to Douglas County Sheriff’s Office records, the threat was received by casino security at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2026. Security staff immediately notified deputies after a caller reportedly claimed responsibility and issued a direct threat.

“Yeah, I just lost over $20,000 at your stupid casino, and I am going to destroy it now. I am going to bomb it. This is a bomb threat,” the caller said, according to the incident report.

The suspect, identified as Seth Levi Maybee, was located several hours later and arrested by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at approximately 1:44 a.m. on Jan. 6 at a room on Pine Boulevard in Stateline, according to jail booking records.

Maybee, whose booking number is 134895, was taken into custody and later booked at 12:00 a.m. He is currently being held without bail on a felony charge of fugitive from justice, under California Penal Code 1551.1, authorities said. The charge allows for arrest without a warrant when a suspect is believed to be wanted in another jurisdiction.

No injuries were reported, and authorities have not disclosed whether the casino was evacuated or if any device was found. The investigation remains ongoing.

Harrah’s Lake Tahoe sits just across the Nevada-California state line and is a frequent destination for residents of El Dorado County, particularly during winter tourism and weekend travel.

Law enforcement officials continue to emphasize that bomb threats—regardless of intent—are treated as serious crimes and can result in felony charges, significant prison time, and lasting legal consequences.

Information in this report was confirmed through Douglas County Sheriff’s Office booking records and South Lake Tahoe Police Department arrest information, both publicly accessible law enforcement documents.
