By Cris Alarcon, InEDC Writer. (April 7, 2025) — PLACERVILLE, Calif. — The Placerville Times served as a significant voice in El Dorado County, chronicling local events and developments during its publication years. Established as The Placerville Times in 1936, it succeeded earlier iterations and continued until 1956, when it was succeeded by The Times, which ran from 1956 to 1958.

Throughout its publication, The Placerville Times provided residents with news pertinent to Placerville and the surrounding areas. In 1958, The Placerville Times merged with the Mountain Democrat, resulting in the formation of The Mountain Democrat and Placerville Times. This merger combined the legacies of both newspapers, continuing the tradition of local journalism in the region.
