Placerville (Sept 13, 2024) – If you’re looking for a slice of Old West adventure, Placerville’s Bell Tower is the place to be this Sunday, September 15th, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Motherlode Stagecoach will be offering free rides, taking locals and visitors alike on a ride back in time. It’s an opportunity to experience history firsthand while enjoying a bit of theatrical flair.

But this isn’t just any Sunday stroll. Along the way, you might just find yourself caught in the middle of a stagecoach robbery, orchestrated by the infamous Hangtown Renegades—characters straight from Placerville’s Gold Rush past. These renegades symbolize a wild, lawless era when swift justice was dealt at the end of a rope, and the streets echoed with tales of outlaws, miners, and vigilantes. You’ll get to witness a bit of that action as the Renegades “rob” the coach, making for a fun, family-friendly reenactment of the rough-and-tumble days of Hangtown.

For those fascinated by history, this is also your chance to take a photo with the Motherlode Stagecoach, meet the horses that pull it, and chat with the reenactors who bring these historic figures to life. There’s nothing quite like hearing the clang of the reins and the clomp of hooves to remind you of Placerville’s storied past.

And keep an eye out for Dawn of the Motherlode Stagecoach crew. Her infectious smile will be your first welcome, but don’t be fooled—when her eyes flash a warning, you’ll know she means business. Dawn is a beloved member of the team, bringing warmth and a touch of Wild West toughness to this iconic local attraction.

Whether you’re a history buff, looking for family fun, or just curious about Placerville’s Wild West days, this event promises a little something for everyone. So saddle up and head to the Bell Tower for a ride through time!
