El Dorado County (July 10, 2024) – In a surprising turn of events, a beloved fixture of Placerville’s Main Street has closed its doors for good. Round Table Pizza, situated at 512 Main St., has ceased operations, leaving a noticeable void in the downtown dining scene. A sign posted at the shuttered restaurant confirms the closure, redirecting patrons to another location on Missouri Flat Road.

Nestled conveniently near the El Dorado County Superior Court branch, the Main Street Round Table was a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. Despite its popularity, the reasons for its closure remain undisclosed.

Erin Mandzik, spokesperson for Beverly Hills-based FAT Brands Inc., Round Table’s parent company, provided some insight via email to the Business Journal. “The local franchisee has another location in Placerville at 3975 Missouri Flat Road and has decided to focus on this location rather. We appreciate all of our loyal fans who frequented our 512 Main Street location and hope to see them visit our other Placerville location in the near future.”

While the sign and official statement offer little detail about the closure’s cause, the shift in focus to the Missouri Flat Road location suggests a strategic business decision. Loyal customers will now have to venture a bit further to get their favorite pizza, but the spirit of Round Table Pizza continues to thrive in Placerville.
