El Dorado County (Nov 17, 2024) – The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for lower elevations in El Dorado County, in effect from 10 PM Monday, November 18, through 10 AM Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Temperatures are expected to drop to 30–36°F, with frost likely at elevations below 2,000 feet.

Impacts:

  • Pets and Livestock: Bring animals indoors or provide adequate shelter to keep them warm.
  • Plants: Protect sensitive vegetation by covering them or moving potted plants indoors.
  • People: Ensure adequate heating, especially for vulnerable individuals such as children and the elderly.

With cold temperatures, frostbite and hypothermia risks increase for those exposed to the elements without proper clothing. Residents should also prepare homes by insulating exposed pipes and sealing any drafts to retain heat
