El Dorado County (Jan 2 2024) – Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call on January 1, 2023, that led them to the lifeless body of 44-year-old Jimmie Wiedeman at his residence on the 1100-block of Fox Lane in Lincoln. Preliminary findings indicated Wiedeman had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

After an exhaustive year-long investigation, detectives from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Persons Unit made a breakthrough. On December 28, 2023, they apprehended 63-year-old Eric Olsen in El Dorado County, thanks to collaborative efforts with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. Olsen now faces charges related to the murder of Jimmie Wiedeman.
