Placerville, CA — In the early hours of September 7, 2024, a tragic incident unfolded on US-50 eastbound, just east of Snows Road in Camino. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to a report of a disabled vehicle at around 6:30 AM. Upon arrival, officers found a Chevrolet truck parked on the right shoulder. Inside, they discovered a female occupant who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Sacramento man, identified as Scott Michael Boyles, 38, was arrested in connection with the homicide. Boyles was taken into custody without incident and booked on one count of first-degree murder, a felony charge with no bail allowed.
