The day began before dawn when deputies found Mason Lomteaux, 26, stumbling along Woodleigh Lane, drunk and disorderly, booked for public intoxication. A few hours later, Gary Dean Taylor, a parolee on the run, was picked up on Pony Express Trail and hauled back to custody. James Shelby Pepper Jr. spent his Sunday morning in cuffs after South Lake Tahoe Police found drugs and a violated restraining order at a home on C Street. Around midday, Hugo Brambila was stopped again, this time on Greenback Lane — same story, suspended license and another parole violation. In Cameron Park, Austin Cortez was arrested for DUI after allegedly weaving through Wilkinson Road like it was an obstacle course. Evening brought more heat when Christopher Larkin led Tahoe officers on a brief chase before being nailed for DUI and resisting arrest. Deputies then caught George Clink red-handed on Chrome Ridge Road with burglary tools and narcotics in his pocket. The night closed hard — Wendy Ares slammed into a DUI collision on Lukins Way, injuring another driver, and now faces two felony counts of drunk driving causing injury.
